BIOFACE veut proposer une reconstruction osseuse du visage avec un nouveau biomat\u00e9riau&nbsp;aux patients trait\u00e9s pour des cancers de la t\u00eate et du cou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aider les patients apr\u00e8s un cancer passe aussi par&nbsp;des innovations m\u00e9dicales et industrielles. Le projet BIOFACE (1) ambitionne d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la vie des patients qui ont subi de lourdes chirurgies pour traiter des cancers de la t\u00eate et du cou (2). Il est port\u00e9 par le Professeur Agn\u00e8s Dupret-Bories, chirurgien ORL et cervico-facial du Centre hospitalier universitaire (CHU) de Toulouse exer\u00e7ant \u00e0 l\u2019Institut universitaire du cancer de Toulouse-Oncopole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un nouveau biomat\u00e9riau, pour reconstruire sur mesure des mandibules et des maxillaires, est au c\u0153ur de ce projet retenu parmi les laur\u00e9ats RHU (recherche hospitalo-universitaire) du plan d\u2019innovation France 2030. Il sera ainsi soutenu par un financement pouvant aller jusqu\u2019\u00e0 4,395 millions d\u2019euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Actuellement, la reconstruction du visage se fait avec d&#8217;autres os du corps humain <canvas width=\"56\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"225\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"68\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"114\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"62\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"78\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"92\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"139\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"63\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"68\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"105\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><canvas width=\"115\" height=\"42\"><\/canvas><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab&nbsp;Dans les cancers de la t\u00eate et du cou, les chirurgies sont lourdes, notamment lorsqu\u2019il faut retirer une partie du maxillaire ou de la m\u00e2choire. Actuellement, pour reconstruire le visage apr\u00e8s ces interventions, il faut prendre un autre os : une partie du p\u00e9ron\u00e9 pour refaire la mandibule ou une partie de l\u2019omoplate pour le maxillaire&nbsp;\u00bb, explique le Pr Agn\u00e8s Dupret-Bories. Outre l\u2019aspect mutilant de l\u2019op\u00e9ration, il est difficile d\u2019obtenir des r\u00e9sultats esth\u00e9tiquement et fonctionnellement satisfaisant. \u00ab&nbsp;C\u2019est compliqu\u00e9 de donner la bonne forme et le bon relief \u00e0 un os plat. Il faut \u00e9galement rebrancher sous microscope les vaisseaux qui nourrissent l\u2019os, avec un risque d\u2019\u00e9chec de 5% \u00e0 10%&nbsp;\u00bb, constate le chirurgien. Quant aux reconstructions \u00e0 base de titane, elles ne sont pas compatibles avec des traitements par radioth\u00e9rapie. Toulousains de l\u2019ann\u00e9e : Le Pr Agn\u00e8s Dupret-Bories a permis une reconstruction nasale in\u00e9dite<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adepte de l\u2019innovation, Agn\u00e8s Dupret-Bories s\u2019\u00e9tait distingu\u00e9e en 2022, avec le Dr Benjamin Vairel,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ladepeche.fr\/2022\/11\/07\/pour-reconstituer-le-nez-dune-patiente-les-chirurgiens-limplantent-dabord-dans-son-bras-10788230.php\">pour avoir reconstruit enti\u00e8rement le nez d\u2019une patiente \u00e0 partir d\u2019un greffon synth\u00e9tique \u00ab&nbsp;cultiv\u00e9&nbsp;\u00bb sur son avant-bras<\/a>. Avec BIOFACE, elle poursuit sa recherche sur l\u2019utilisation des biomat\u00e9riaux. \u00ab&nbsp;Nous voulons remplacer l\u2019os par un biomat\u00e9riau model\u00e9 sur le scanner r\u00e9alis\u00e9 avant l\u2019op\u00e9ration. Le but est qu\u2019il corresponde \u00e0 l\u2019anatomie du patient et qu\u2019il supporte les rayons en cas de radioth\u00e9rapie. La recherche portera \u00e0 la fois sur la r\u00e9sistance et la composition du biomat\u00e9riau qui int\u00e9grera notamment des agents antibact\u00e9riens pour le prot\u00e9ger des germes de la cavit\u00e9 buccale.
