Rassembl\u00e9es autour du miroir elliptique de 2,70mx2,10m, tout en carbure de silicium, ce mat\u00e9riau que Mersen Boostec fa\u00e7onne selon un process unique et qui&nbsp;a fait la r\u00e9putation de l\u2019usine de Bazet \u00e0 l\u2019international, les \u00e9quipes&nbsp;peuvent poser fi\u00e8rement. La livraison \u00e0 Safran Reosc du cinqui\u00e8me et dernier miroir de l\u2019ELT (pour extremely large telescope) de&nbsp;l\u2019Observatoire europ\u00e9en austral correspond \u00e0 une premi\u00e8re mondiale, pour ce qui sera le poste d\u2019observation de l\u2019espace le plus puissant du monde, avec un miroir primaire de 39&nbsp;m de diam\u00e8tre. Ce t\u00e9lescope g\u00e9ant est en cours de construction au Chili, sur le Cerro Armazones \u00e0 plus de 3&nbsp;000&nbsp;m d\u2019altitude. Une position avanc\u00e9e de choix dans un environnement d\u00e9sertique qui doit permettre de r\u00e9aliser des progr\u00e8s significatifs en astronomie, pour comprendre l\u2019\u00e9volution des galaxies et de l\u2019univers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un projet d\u2019ampleur in\u00e9dite et pour lequel la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 bigourdane Mersen Boostec, qui a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 diverses missions spatiales et compte des \u00e9l\u00e9ments embarqu\u00e9s sur pr\u00e8s de 20 instruments dans l\u2019espace, a pu faire pr\u00e9valoir son savoir-faire et sa ma\u00eetrise, notamment sur le&nbsp;carbure de silicium. \u00ab&nbsp;La signature de ce contrat majeur faisait suite \u00e0 des contacts nou\u00e9s de longue date et \u00e0 un travail de pr\u00e8s de dix ans sur des d\u00e9monstrateurs, des prototypes, nous d\u00e9taillait J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lavenac, le directeur du site industriel baz\u00e9tois.&nbsp;Pour le 5e miroir, il s\u2019agit d\u2019un miroir elliptique de 2,70mx2,10m, tout en carbure de silicium, afin de pouvoir vibrer pour corriger les d\u00e9formations du syst\u00e8me. En assemblant par brasage ces p\u00e9tales, Mersen Boostec a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une prouesse technologique.
